Nalajala Receives Award
Sindoora Nalajala received the 2026 John Ingle Innovation in Plant Breeding Award given by the Institute of Plant Breeding, Genetics & Genomics. She was honored for her research identifying the genetic control of resistance to Phytophthora root rot in blueberry.
Her work contributes to the development of healthier, more resilient blueberry varieties and advances disease-resistance breeding efforts.

Emily’s graduate research was focused on using tissue culture to increase the ploidy level in blueberry varieties.
